Contamination Control Products for Semiconductor Manufacturing

Semiconductor Cleanroom Solutions from Qianyu are built around the practical contamination-control requirements of wafer fabrication, semiconductor assembly, packaging, inspection and equipment maintenance. We manufacture and supply low-lint cleanroom wipes, ESD-safe wiping materials, cleanroom swabs, sticky mats, protective garments, gloves and other consumables used in controlled production environments.

There is no single wipe or ESD product suitable for every process. Product selection should consider the cleanroom classification, cleaning surface, particle-control requirement, solvent, working method and packaging format. Our team works with semiconductor manufacturers, cleanroom distributors and industrial supply companies to identify suitable materials and prepare samples for process evaluation.

Contamination Risks in Semiconductor Production

Particles, fibers, residues and electrostatic charge can enter a controlled area through personnel, packaging, tools, equipment maintenance and routine cleaning. A consumable that performs well in a general industrial area may generate too many particles or leave unwanted residues in a more critical production zone.

Common contamination-control concerns include:

  • Fibers released from wiping materials
  • Particles transferred from footwear and equipment wheels
  • Residues left after solvent cleaning
  • Static charge around sensitive components
  • Scratches caused by unsuitable wiping surfaces
  • Contamination introduced during tool maintenance
  • Inconsistent packaging and handling between production batches
  • For this reason, cleanroom consumables should be selected according to the actual process rather than purchased only by material name or unit price. Final approval should be based on the facility's internal qualification procedure and contamination-control requirements.

Polyester Cleanroom Wipes

Polyester cleanroom wipes are commonly selected for controlled cleaning where low particle generation, durability and solvent resistance are important. Knitted polyester provides a consistent wiping surface and can be supplied with different edge treatments.

Cold-cut wipes are suitable for less critical cleaning tasks where economy and absorbency are the main considerations. Laser-sealed or ultrasonic-sealed edges are preferred when tighter edge control is required. Available options can be selected according to wipe size, fabric weight, absorbency, softness and packaging quantity.

Typical applications include equipment surfaces, stainless-steel workstations, process tools, inspection areas and general cleanroom maintenance.

Microfiber Cleanroom Wipes

Microfiber wipes have a fine fiber structure that supports the removal of small particles, fingerprints and light residues. Their soft surface makes them suitable for delicate components, optical parts and surfaces where scratch control is important.

The cleaning result depends on the microfiber construction, edge treatment, solvent and wiping method. Samples should be tested on the target surface before bulk purchasing, particularly when the process involves coatings or sensitive optical components.

ESD-Safe Cleanroom Wipes

ESD-safe wipes are designed for cleaning areas where particle control and electrostatic protection must be considered together. Conductive or antistatic materials help reduce charge accumulation during wiping and handling.

These wipes can be used around static-sensitive components, electronic assembly areas, inspection stations and semiconductor packaging processes. Selection should be coordinated with the customer's existing ESD control program, grounding system and verification requirements.

Cleanroom Swabs

Cleanroom swabs are used where a standard wipe cannot reach the cleaning point. Foam-tip and polyester-tip options are available for slots, grooves, sensors, tool heads and other confined areas.

When choosing a swab, the buyer should consider tip material, tip size, handle length, solvent compatibility and particle requirements. Different processes may require different levels of softness, absorbency and resistance to abrasion.

Sticky Mats and Sticky Rollers

Sticky mats help capture particles from footwear and cart wheels before they are carried into controlled areas. Numbered peel-off layers make routine replacement easier, while different adhesive levels can be selected for entrances, gowning rooms and transition zones.

Cleanroom sticky mat

Sticky rollers are suitable for removing particles from flat surfaces, worktables and selected equipment exteriors. Size, adhesive strength, layer quantity and packaging can be customized for regular facility use.

ESD Protective Apparel

Qianyu supplies ESD coveralls, lab coats, caps, gloves, footwear and related protective products for semiconductor and electronics manufacturing environments. Fabric construction, conductive grid or stripe pattern, garment style, size and packaging can be adjusted according to customer requirements.

Protective apparel should be selected as part of a complete ESD and contamination-control system. Garment performance can be affected by laundering, wear, grounding practices and working conditions.

How to Select Semiconductor Cleanroom Supplies

1. Confirm the Controlled Area

The first step is to identify where the product will be used. A wipe for equipment maintenance outside the critical process zone may not require the same construction or packaging as a wipe used in a stricter cleanroom area.

Please provide the required cleanroom classification and internal product specification when requesting a recommendation. Product suitability should be confirmed through the customer's own qualification process.

2. Identify the Surface and Contamination

Cleaning stainless steel, coated glass, machine parts and precision optical surfaces requires different wiping characteristics. Buyers should identify whether the main contamination is dust, fingerprints, oil, adhesive, process residue or cleaning solvent.

For delicate surfaces, softness and scratch control may be the priority. For maintenance work, absorbency, strength and resistance to abrasion may be more important.

3. Check Particle and Fiber Requirements

No wiping material is completely free from particles or fibers. The correct objective is to select a low-lint material that meets the process requirement and produces consistent results during use.

Fabric construction, cutting method, edge sealing, washing and packaging can all affect cleanliness. Where edge-generated particles are a concern, sealed-edge polyester wipes are generally considered before cold-cut products.

4. Confirm Solvent Compatibility

Many semiconductor cleaning procedures use IPA or other process-specific cleaning agents. The wipe or swab should maintain adequate strength and should not introduce unacceptable residues when used with the selected solvent.

Customers can provide the solvent name, concentration and cleaning method so that we can recommend a suitable material for sample testing.

5. Review ESD Requirements

Products used around static-sensitive devices should be evaluated as part of the facility's ESD control program. ESD wipes, garments, gloves, footwear and work-surface products should be selected according to the required resistance range and verification procedure.

We can provide relevant product specifications for customer review. Final ESD system design and compliance verification should be completed by the user according to the applicable facility standards.

6. Select the Packaging Format

Packaging should support clean handling, storage and daily consumption. Available options include different wipe sizes, pieces per bag, inner-bag formats, carton quantities, private labels and individual product identification.

For regular bulk orders, we can also help standardize packaging specifications to reduce receiving errors and simplify inventory control.
